Sunday: Pyjamas and Planning?

Does this sound like you? 

Instead of enjoying the weekend, I’m worrying about the week. Instead of soaking up the last few hours, I’m obsessing over how fast they’re dwindling. Instead of rejuvenating my mind and body, I’m stressing out.

The way you approach a situation directly influences what you get out of it. If you go in with a negative attitude, you are probably going to have a negative experience. If you go in with a positive attitude, you are probably going to have a positive experience.

You have to change your mind about Monday. It’s just going to take a conscious effort on your part.

There are things you can do to make the transition from the weekend to the weekday easier and more productive. Try to adjust your routine by:

• Getting up at a reasonable time so you can do what you need to feel prepared for tomorrow.

• Make your bed, do the dishes and a couple of loads of laundry

• Tidy up first thing in the morning. This  makes you fell good and on top of things

• Prep for Monday by preparing your lunch, plan your outfits for the week ahead, check your emails (but don’t spend too long doing this) write a to-do-list and prioritise it

• Do some exercise, try going for a walk around your local area or visit the gym. Incorporating some kind of exercise, yoga, or meditation into your Sunday morning routine will set a great foundation for the rest of the routines still to come in the day – and for the rest of the week.

• Take time for some self care by having a bubble bath or reading a book, time for whatever you enjoy doing on your own

• Make a point to be mindful. Become more aware of your thoughts and more objective about your emotions and focus on the positives for Monday, for example its a new week, fresh start, new goals and you have prepared yourself today ready for it 😊

Think of it this way:  on Monday, you will get to sleep in longer, eat better, and feel more relaxed.
